Highlights from the Erasmus+ SECURE Project Kick-Off Meeting

The Erasmus+ SECURE project officially launched with its kick-off meeting held on December 2–4, 2024, at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. This exciting initiative, supported by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education program, aims to enhance cybersecurity education and research in Georgia and Ukraine by addressing critical challenges in 5G, AI/ML, IoT, and Quantum technologies.

The video below captures the key moments of this collaborative event, which brought together representatives from nine universities across Ukraine, Georgia, Portugal, Spain, and Lithuania.

This kick-off meeting was a significant milestone, laying a strong foundation for the project’s ambitious goals. It reflects the commitment of all partners to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and foster international collaboration.

Project aims to develop two similar R&EHubs – first in Ukraine and second in Georgia, taking into account and using as examples the EU countries’ universities best practices. R&EHubs will include three innovative laboratories in the field of Cybersecurity of 5G and beyond society. These two R&EHubs (UA and GE) will be a basis for the development labs, practical tasks in the framework of four educational courses (modules) within the project. Also, it will become a basis for the training of interested staff, upskilling program, conducting research activities, investigating cyberattacks in this area, etc. It is expected that all the laboratories will be cross-connected and the remote access to all interested stakeholders will be provided using one common R&EHub platform.
